Regional Sustainability Planning, by Building Communities
Communities often find it helpful to broaden the scope of their economic development planning work to be inclusive of additional needs such as affordable housing, public transit, and planning that ensures efficiency for people travelling between home and work. This is the field of regional sustainability planning.
Building Communities is able to help communities and regions that desire to conduct this type of planning by first using the Building Communities economic development strategic planning approach while also considering these broader issues. As such Building Communities offers a two-step planning approach to build a regional sustainability plan. This work is currently underway with 50 communities in three regions across the United States.
Building Communities can work with communities and regions to develop funding proposals to develop a sustainability plan.
